Giving Back to Our Surrounding Community
Dr. DeFont purchased DeFont Family Dental in 2016. Since then, our team has worked to give back to the local area’s charities and deserving organizations by sponsoring multiple sports teams, local events, and volunteering.
Our sponsorships include sports teams at Sonora’s Standard Park Sports Complex, including West Side Little League, Tuolumne County youth soccer, and the Sierra United Club soccer team. We enjoy donating to MLAJA school fundraisers, such as the Mother Lode Adventist Junior Academy and Mother Lode Christian School Jog-a-thon. Our team is also a big supporter of the Bach Music Festival here in Sonora.
For dental-specific events, DeFont Family Dental participates in Give Back a Smile, which focuses on helping victims of domestic abuse, and Give Kids a Smile, which provides underserved children with crucial dental care.

We’re not in-network with dental insurance providers; however, we do bill insurance companies on behalf of our patients (PPOs, but not HMOs or Medi-Cal insurance). If insurance isn’t an option, we encourage you to join our dental membership plan, which covers preventative care and offers discounts on our other services.
